Why is your computer always connecting to amazonaws.com, and what is amazonaws.com anyway? Don't worry, it's not a bad thing-this blog will explain. Dec 23, 2017 I love the pi-hole project and am especially interested in using pi-hole as one of the layers to reduce the chance of getting malware. I helped write a proof of concept last year to add support for massive white lists (default deny config) that is in the development branch of pi-hole/FTL on github.

The biggest mistake people make when discovering Virtual Studio Technology and the world of free VST plugins is to download hundreds of freebies and to hoard them on the hard drive. Free vst plugins download 2015. This is bad for your workflow and productivity.

Description
Hi,
I run Little Snitch on my laptop and I frequently see Atom attempting to make a connection to the
gh-contractor-zcbenz.s3.amazonaws.com s3 bucket:
Sometimes this happens when an update is being installed, when I open Atom, or when I download a new package.
I see that zcbenz is one of the top contributors to Atom and I'm sure this is all above board but the name is a bit disconcerting to me. Can you clarify how this bucket is used, and under what circumstances a connection is made? Is it in a personal AWS account or in a Github owned AWS account? etc
Thanks,

From atom/apm#322 (comment) it appears that several of the
atom.io/download links are 302 redirects to that bucket. I'm guessing that you are seeing this when Atom is checking for package updates. That particular comment is rather old, but I'm guessing that you are hitting similar redirects to that bucket ?.
Thanks for reaching out!

If you enable ~/Library/Mobile Documents and drop a file in here, Little Snitch will ask if you want to allow UDP traffice to Amazon. At first I thought, 'Gee, Apple is using Amazon S3 to do iWork file sharing between iPad, iPhone and the Mac.' But then I tried creating a permanent rule in Little Snitch to deny this UDP traffic and the filles still synchornize immediately between macs. I hope someone else can suggest what this might be. I'm clueless.
